I was asked by Grow, a digital agency in Norfolk, VA, to participate in their Chalk Canvas series. Different artists were asked to create artwork using chalk on a provided black canvas about 3' x 5' big. Each piece lived for about a year and a half before being repainted and having a new artwork created over it. What a unique experience!
My piece is based on the spacious sage and juniper-filled hills and enormous skies of New Mexico, which I had just visited.
The beautiful photographs were taken by Mike Washington.
